The kizomba scene in Ireland has grown significantly in recent years and now it’s gaining international recognition. Team Dublin / Ireland was recently awarded with the best Additional Choreography during the Kizomba Flashmob World Project – a global initiative that unites dancers from across the world to celebrate kizomba through synchronized public performances.

The choreography was performed in several locations across Dublin, blending the city’s urban charm with the soulful rhythm of kizomba and the strong sense of unity among the dancers.

The winning routine, choreographed by Edyta and Kabelo, showcased a blend of musicality, precision, and expressive movement. Their performance stood out among entries from around the world for its cohesion, energy, and creative interpretation of the music. Both Edyta and Kabelo run and teach at Kizomba Dance Academy on the Dublin campus.

Ireland’s kizomba scene has become known not only for its vibrant energy but also for the quality of instruction available. Regular classes by Kabelo and Edyta in Dublin continue to raise the level of dancing in a welcoming and well-structured environment. They are active teachers in the community, contributing through workshops and weekly classes via Kizomba Dance Academy Ireland.

We also owe much to the key early figures of kizomba in Ireland, including Celso and Ela Kiseur, who played a vital role in building the foundation of the community during its formative years.
